Artist's Comments

This peice took more work to upload than it did to paint! I tried scanning it in peices, but without Photoshop I had no way to fit the peices together. Paint and Arcsoft PhotoStudio ended up slowing to a crawl.

This is just a photo of it. when I can get a better image I will update it, but until then...

...Just for the record, my only reference for this came from a picture of a needlework. And the little blue thing in the bottom right corner is supposed to be my signature.

Thanks for the comments on my two paintings.

I am working on a commision of an elephant. The lineart is in my scraps at the moment, and I welcome any comments or critisism. (I will have to start work on it after christmas, when I get some better quality acrylic brushes)
It's painted good, I never was good at painting
I like this guy! He hasn't a care in the world! Very well done.

The pose for the feline came from a photograph in an embroidery magazine (you can find lots of reference pictures in those). But this is my own work apart from that.
Who hasn't used ref pics. I use them all the time. I just make sure to use it as reference not to copy. You know to get the features basically. Take Jack I used a pic to ref. the pose, but I changed the wheel and his hair and braids and some of his clothes too. The pose is the same but the rest is mine. Plus the pic is from the movie. Not a photographer. It's ok to use ref pics. You did fine with the feline. :D
